The Swindon Senior
Flames side was formed in June 2007, to ensure that all
players, regardless of age and ability, could continue to
participate in the sport of Skater Hockey on reaching the
age of 18yrs.
The team will ensure that the success of the
junior development programme at The Croft can continue and
provide our promising up and coming youngsters the
opportunity to play the sport into adulthood.
The team train each Tuesday
evening from 2100hrs to 2200hrs at the Stratton Community
Centre, Grange Drive, Swindon.
The team gained league status
in 2008, where we have exceeded our expectations and just
claimed the SASH B League (Oct 2008). Whilst
the league games are taken seriously, the emphasis of the
team is to have fun and enjoy ourselves. You will always
find most of the team (age permitting), in the bar after
training nights enjoying a well earned beer.
Whilst our youngest play-ups
are 15 years old, our oldest players are in the 40's,
although looking at some of them, this might be a
conservative estimate! The ability ranges from beginner
level through to players who have represented Team GB. If
you wish to become involved in the sport, regardless of your
age or ability, come along on a Tuesday evening. We are a
friendly group.
