Swindon Flames - Bienne 2006

The Junior Flames travelled to Bienne in Switzerland to compete in the Bienne Seelanders 2006 European Tournament.

Fourteen teams from across Europe battled for honours at Senior & Junior level. The Swindon Flames were the only UK club side taking part but were joined by a Great Britain U21 select team, between them they flew the flag for the UK.

Despite two days of non-stop rain and games being played outdoors the slightly dampened fans were treated to some terrific hockey. The standard of hockey was extremely high, all games were played at a tremendous pace and in great spirit.

The hosts (Seelanders) ran out worthy winners but a thoroughly enjoyable weekend was had by all who made the trip. We would like to pass on our thanks to the Seelanders for being such marvellous hosts and for putting on such a well run tournament. We look forward to seeing them again next year.
