GB Selection for Junior Flame

Swindon Skater Hockey Club are proud to announce that their Junior team captain, Shaun Davies, has been awarded national honours with his selection to the Great Britain, under 18’s, Skater Hockey squad.

The national team will be competing in the IISHF European Junior Championships, which are to be held in Lugano, Switzerland in September. They will be facing off against national sides from Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, The Netherlands and, last year’s European Champions, Germany. The Great Britain team will be hoping to improve on last year’s performance where they impressed by finishing second in the tournament after losing in a one sided, 10-2, final to the German national team.

Shaun, who began playing hockey at the age of 6, said, “ It’s a great honour to be asked to represent the country and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to play hockey at the highest level”.

Swindon Skater Hockey Club Chairman, Les Satchell, said “It’s a fantastic achievement for Shaun and well deserved. As a club we’re proud that he has been selected and we all wish him well in the Championships and we’re confident that Shaun will prove to be a valuable member of the National team”.
