Swindon Flames chairman Nigel Davies receives grant cheque from Mike Spearman, Swindon Town Football Club ambassador

Swindon Flames Skater Hockey have been successful is securing a substantial grant from the Swindon Sports Forum. The grant will enable the club to train all its coaches to UKCC Level 2, and allow the club to gain proper accreditation with both Swindon Borough Council and Sports England.

Speaking at the presentation evening held at Swindon Steam, club chairman Nigel Davies said " We are truly grateful to both Swindon Town Football Club and the Swindon Sports Forum for supporting our club. We have been working towards Clubmark accreditation for over two years, and the grant will allow us to complete the process early next year. Every single member of our club will benefit through this initiative"

The group of eleven young sporting stars who each received grants from The Swindon Sports Forum

At the same awards evening, Junior Flames captain Craig Davies was one of eleven young sporting stars awarded  individual grants. On receiving his grant, Craig said "I would like to thank everyone involved in the Sports Forum for supporting me this year." Craig received the grant towards the costs incurred in representing Great Britain at the recent European Championships held in Austria, where he returned with a silver medal.
