scorcher

Squad:
James Smith (C), James Lewington (A), Charlie Endicott, Charlie
Browning, Oliver Stone, Ethan Morrissey, Jack Clarke, Taylor
Mckenzie, Connor Poynter
The 1st game of the new 2010 season for SASH, faced off with the
Swindon flames against the Banbury bulldogs, always a well fought
game from days past.
A nervous start from Swindon saw some good passing, and a number of
shots against the bulldogs but these early attempts where thwarted
by the Banbury keeper.
A rare mixup in the Flames defence saw a goal for Banbury, but this
was disallowed by the referees as a kickin. Swindon now settled into
a good rhythm and a number of quality breakouts saw the score line
jump into the Flames advantage, goals from Charlie Browning and
Oliver Stone left the Flames 6-1 up at the end of the first period.
The 2nd period started identical to the end of the 1st, leaving no
let up for the Bulldogs who where kept on the defensive, goal
scoring opportunities for Ethan Morrissey and Jack Clarke saw the
ball hit the back of the net, and as the pressure mounted
Charlie Browning and Oliver Stone netted a multitude of extra goals,
a final consolation goal for Banbury left the final score at 16-2 to
the Swindon Flames.
New Flames coach, Paul Morrissey had this to say "What a great start
to the new season, all the players had a great time, and played
extremely well, hopefully this will give the team confidence, and we
can build on this throughout the season"
