REGIONAL CALL UP FOR JUNIOR FLAMES

 

Swindon Skater Hockey Club are proud to announce that four of their club members have been selected for duty with the 2008 Junior Southern Area Skater Hockey (SASH) team sqaud..

As members of the squad, Junior Flames, James Bayliss, Craig Davies, Miles Bailey and Tom Ireland will be competing in the British Inline Skater Hockey Assosiation’s (BISHA) National Regional Championships which are held annually and sees the best of each region’s players combined into regional squads to compete for the title of National Champions.

The Junior Flames join a squad determined to reverse the fortunes of the last three years which have seen the SASH squad pick up three consecutive runners-up trophies after losing in three finals.

Commenting on the selection, Club Chairman Les Satchell said “ In previous year’s the Flames have always been well represented at regional and national levels but to have 4 of our junior players selected for a regional squad of 17 far surpasses our own expectations and is a fantastic achievement which clearly illustrates the strength and depth we have at the club. It is also a testament to the ongoing development programme being run throughout Swindon Skater Hockey Club. That said, James, Craig, Miles and Tom should be congratulated on their selection as it is much deserved and a credit to their own hard-work, dedication and ability. I am sure that they will acquit themselves well and prove to be valuable assets to the SASH squad as they mount their challenge for the elusive Regional Championship title.”
