GB call up for Swindon Ladies
Swindon Flames duo Hannah Archer and Laura Merrick have been awarded national honours and selected to represent Great Britain at the Women's Inline Skater Hockey World Championships being held in Roccaraso (Italy) from the 2nd to the 9th July 2011.
Team Great Britain will be competing against the very best teams from around the world, including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, USA, China, Japan and Slovakia.
Hannah, who began playing hockey with the Peewee 12s said, “It’s a great honour to be asked to represent my country and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to play hockey at the highest level”.

Swindon Skater Hockey Club Secretary Chris Rose, said “It’s a fantastic achievement for Hannah and Laura and well deserved. As a club we’re proud that they have been selected and we all wish them well in the Championships and we’re confident that they will prove to be a valuable members of the National team. This is the fourth year running that we have had representatives in our national teams, which is a testament to the junior development programme being run by the club.”.
