BiSHA South West The British Inline Skater Hockey South West league has reformed for the 2010 season, and for the first time league hockey will be played at the spiritual home of skater hockey in Swindon, The Croft Sports Centre. The inaugural season will consist of 10 senior teams competing in what is sure to be a competitive league, as local teams renew their rivalry during the season.
The teams that will compete in the league are: Brompton Bulldogs (reading based) Gloucester North Wilts Vikings (Chippenham) Oxford Shamal Severnbridge Bombers (Bristol based) Swindon Spartans Swindon Flames Swindon Northstars Swindon Reds Voodoo (Cardiff based)
The league will run on the following days: Sunday 21st March 2010 – ½ day (4 games in morning)* Sunday 28th March 2010 – ½ day (4 games in morning)* Sunday 11th April 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 25th April 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 9th May 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 23rd May 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 13th June 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 27th June 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 18th July 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 25th July 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 12 Sept 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 19th Sept 2010 – full day (8 games) Sunday 26th Sept 2010 – full day (8 games)
Nigel Davies, a member of the interim league management committee said " It is really great to see league hockey back in the west country, and we are looking forward to working with The Croft Centre to make the league a long term success. This year will see only senior teams competing in the league, however we are already looking to the future and working hard to form leagues for the younger age groups."
